US to add features such as blind spot warnings and pedestrian detection to vehicle crash ratings

Starting in 2026, the U.S. government will update automobile safety ratings to include new driver-assistance technologies and pedestrian protection tests. The changes aim to enhance safety standards and encourage automakers to adopt advanced safety features.
