Six Whatcom County grocery stores to be sold off in Kroger and Albertsons merger

Kroger and Albertsons plan to divest 579 stores nationwide as part of their merger, including several in Whatcom County. All stores will be sold to C&S Wholesale Grocers, ensuring no closures or layoffs. The merger is expected to finalize in early 2024.
