School district in San Jose to see nearly half its campuses close, consolidate

The Alum Rock Union School District in east San Jose faces potential closure or consolidation of nearly half its campuses due to declining enrollment. Superintendent Cerda plans to close seven schools to cut costs and avoid a county takeover if the deficit isn't addressed by Dec. 16.
