Mayor Eric Adams is discontinuing a controversial program providing prepaid debit cards to migrants in NYC shelters for groceries. The $53 million contract with Mobility Capital Finance faced scrutiny for lack of proper bidding. The program aimed to cut costs and reduce food waste, distributing $3.2 million to migrant families.
