The ICCT report highlights the benefits of establishing a North Atlantic emission control zone for shipping, projecting thousands of premature deaths could be avoided by reducing engine emissions. This zone could protect marine biodiversity and cultural sites, with health benefits valued at €19 to €29 billion between 2030-2050.
