Legal analysts predict that Special Counsel Jack Smith will resign before President Trump can fire him. Smith was appointed to oversee Trump's federal cases and indicted him on charges related to the 2020 election. Analysts believe Congress may not intervene to protect Smith from dismissal once Trump takes office.
