Honolulu's dying palms to be replaced with this new tree -- for now

Coconut trees on Oahu are being removed due to a beetle infestation, posing a safety risk. Shade trees will be planted instead until beetle control improves. Efforts are underway to manage the invasive species and preserve Oahu's urban canopy cover.
