Former West Virginia jail officer pleads guilty to civil rights violation in fatal assault on inmate

A former correctional officer in southern West Virginia pleaded guilty to a federal civil rights violation in the death of a man at the Southern Regional Jail. Mark Holdren admitted to conspiring to beat Quantez Burks, who died a day after being booked.
