Fears for spread of malaria in Africa as study finds resistance to frontline drug

Researchers found evidence of artemisinin resistance in young African children with severe malaria. Study revealed 1 in 10 children showed resistance, raising concerns as this drug is crucial in treating malaria in Africa. The situation is similar to resistance seen in Asia years ago.
