DACA recipient wins New Mexico legislative seat and other historic 2024 election wins

The 2024 election brought historic victories, including the first transgender Congress representative and Maryland's first Black senator. New Mexico elected Cindy Nava, a former DACA recipient, as a state senator. Other breakthroughs included the first openly transgender person elected to Congress and the first Black senator in Maryland.
