China admits spy plane violated US ally's airspace

In August, a Chinese spy plane accidentally entered Japanese airspace due to turbulence over the East China Sea. This incident marked the first intrusion on record. China claimed it was unintentional, while Japan considered it a serious violation. Both countries have territorial disputes over the Senkaku/Diaoyu Islands.
