At my first job out of college, all my coworkers were older and had children my age. I struggled to earn their respect.

Working with older coworkers who didn't respect my age was challenging. They dismissed young people, making it hard to earn respect. However, bonding with a Gen X friend who treated me as an equal showed me the value of intergenerational workplaces.
