The 2025-26 FAFSA is open ahead of schedule -- how to apply for aid

The 2025-26 FAFSA application opened on Dec. 1, two months later than usual due to past issues. A beta testing phase allowed select users to provide feedback, with all applicants now able to submit their forms. Corrections can be made without needing a new application.
