Iran’s $90 Million Crypto Bag Goes “Poof” in Latest Israeli-Hacker Attack…

I’ll be honest, I half-expected somewhat of a global sh*t storm conflict in 2025, but what I didn’t have on my 2025 bingo card was “Iran’s largest crypto exchange gets absolutely violated by pro-Israel hackers who then YOLO the loot into the digital abyss”

In short, Nobitex, Iran’s largest degenerate crypto cesspool just got its hot wallet raided for over $90 million in crypto. Of course, you don’t have to be a genius to see the petty reason for this attack. Iran and Israel are trading punches left, right, and twice on Sunday, however, the interesting part is what the Israel-hackers did with their largest prized winnings outside of Hollywood: They torched the whole bag LOL.

The hacking crew, going by “Predatory Sparrow” , drained Nobitex’s wallets and sent the assets to burner addresses. From there, the assets that contained everything from bitcoin to dogecoin to some other sh*tcoins proceeded to be set on fire with zero chance of recovery. Why? Because for the hackers it wasn’t about making a quick buck. Instead the funds were funneled into wallets stamped with anti-IRGC messages (think: Eat my shorts, Khamenei). Now again, this comes at the same time both of these two half-brothers (biblically speaking) are actively lobbing hardware at each other. But now the playground includes your crypto bags, too. Who knew?

To be fair though, Elliptic and Chainalysis both linked Nobitex to IRGC wallets, sanctioned ransomware operatives, and a whole “who’s who” of international bad guys. Now in no way am I saying they deserved it, but… eh, let’s just say this was technically like leaving your Lamborghini running, with the door open, in a Walmart parking lot. And yet, now with Nobitex’s site and app offline “for the foreseeable future,” Iranian crypto users just got a massive reality check that “not your keys, not your coins” isn’t just a meme… it’s a lifestyle in this world.

With that said, while Iran’s digital asset market is relatively tiny, this just goes to show you what’s likely in the new age of war we’re in. Even the smallest exchanges are strategic targets to attack. It’s not just about money anymore, it’s about sending a message… and in this case, the message from the hackers is “get rekt”.

Meaning, if you’re any type of crypto user, this is your sign to go full tinfoil mode. Your wallet can get drained even if you aren’t someone who makes visiting pirated sites your entire personality. But alas, this is reason #190947803 why I don’t mess with crypto. In the meantime though, keep your eyes on any more warfare attacks like this on crypto and place your bets accordingly. Until next time, friends…
