Intel and Commerce Department close to finalizing roughly $8 billion CHIPS Act grant, source says

Intel CEO Patrick Gelsinger spoke at the Intel Ocotillo Campus in Arizona before President Biden's remarks. Intel is close to receiving an $8 billion grant for factory-building efforts. The company is also in line for a $3 billion contract to manufacture chips for the Department of Defense.
