TDK's innovation targets various devices that come into direct contact with the human body, such as wireless earphones, hearing aids, and smartwatches. The company plans to produce these batteries using an all-ceramic material made of oxide-based solid electrolytes and lithium alloy anodes.
One of TDK's key goals is to replace existing coin cell batteries, small stainless steel discs commonly used in portable devices, with its solid-state battery technology.

Additionally, the smaller size and higher capacitance (ability to store electric charge) of these batteries could contribute to the development of smaller devices while potentially providing longer operating times.
