Elon’s $474M MAGA Investment Returns -90,717% as Democrats Send Tesla, SpaceX Packing ($430B Gone)

Elon: “It's just a little political volatility. Nothing to worry about.”

Elon: “I thought the maximum loss was 100%?”

If you’re currently looking at your AI-heavy portfolio down (checks notes) 13% today and feel like a chump…

Imagine how dumb Elon Musk feels having just spent $474 MILLION trying to keep his political allies in power… only to somehow turn that starting stake into NEGATIVE HALF A TRILLION DOLLARS.

Surely I just made that tf up right?

Actually no, not this time.

Because just 48 hours after Democrats swept Congress and flipped the Texas governor's mansion, Tesla and SpaceX have watched more than $430 BILLION evaporate from their market capitalizations.

“Holy sh*t, and I thought I was a f****** idiot.” -Every brokie who lost their car by buying HAWKTUAH coin.

Sadly for all the Tesla bros, shares are down as much as 10% today, following Wednesday's 3.3% decline, while SpaceX dropped another 9.2%.

That puts Tesla down approximately 22% for the year.

So much for the whole TO THE MOON thing.

And while your favorite hyperscalers are fighting for their lives in Nasdaqistan, Musk's brilliant political investment strategy $474 MILLION gambling habit has added a rather unfortunate layer of complications.

See, Texas just elected Democrat Gina Hinojosa governor, ending Greg Abbott's tenure in a state that happens to house BOTH Tesla and SpaceX headquarters.

And Hinojosa has pledged to halt construction of new data centers.

That's a BIGLY Ashley St. Clair sized migraine for SpaceX, which is planning major data center investments, including a facility outside Brownsville, Texas.

Of course, campaign promises aren't laws, and Hinojosa would still face legal and political obstacles implementing a statewide construction ban.

But investors aren't exactly waiting around to find out.

As Integrity Asset Management portfolio manager Joe Gilbert explained, Tesla and SpaceX are effectively a "2-for-1 special" as investors reassess the risks of slowing data center construction.

And that brings us to the part where Elon's $474 MILLION political investment gets even more embarrassing.

Of that enormous war chest, about $224 million went toward influencing Texas races.

Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton, one of Musk's preferred beneficiaries, lost to Democrat James Talarico.

And Talarico wasted ZERO seconds celebrating his victory before turning Elon into a political punching bag.

"The people of Texas delivered a crystal-clear message to the world's first trillionaire: Texas is not for sale," he declared on CBS.

He then accused Musk of trying to purchase himself a personal senator who would facilitate data center development using Texas land, water, and taxpayer resources.

Stop! He’s already bankrupt embarrassed.

And unfortunately for Musk, the political consequences could extend WELL beyond Texas.

Remember that potential Tesla-SpaceX merger?

Last month, Musk revealed that both companies had established independent board committees to explore combining the world’s biggest meme stock with his rocket-launching AI side piece.

The proposed marriage would require approval from at least 50% of Tesla shareholders, according to Musk.

But with the blue haired baristas liberals now controlling both chambers of Congress, investors are questioning whether the regulatory environment could make an already complicated merger considerably harder to execute.

Meanwhile, the AI trade is getting its cheeks clapped as semis, data center stocks, and anything remotely associated with Jensen Huang gets bent over.

And Musk is catching both barrels.

One from investors questioning the economics of America's enormous AI infrastructure buildout.

The other from newly elected politicians who campaigned on making his life considerably more difficult.

Or, hear me out, Elon could copy Zuck… accept the election results gracefully grow a man bun, buy a Subaru, and announce his lifelong commitment to progressive values.
