East Kilbride-Glasgow line electrification upgrade to begin in January 2025

Network Rail will begin the electrification project on the railway between East Kilbride and Glasgow in January 2025, aiming to improve rail services and passenger reliability. The 16-week closure will allow for essential upgrades, including new stations and overhead power cables.
