Data shows deadly crashes are on the rise in New Jersey. Drunk driving is a significant factor, police say.

Recent data from the New Jersey State Police Fatal Investigation Unit shows an increase in deadly crashes in the state, with drunk driving being a major cause. Out of 643 deaths this year, 207 were pedestrians and 25 were cyclists. Nationwide, drunk driving accounts for one-third of all fatal crashes.
