Amazon shareholders: “Yeah your package delivery system is insanely impressive but how about a positive stock price before Christmas?”
WW: “Best I can do is a stale partnership with Oprah Winfrey’s ex.”

Remember when Oprah Winfrey left the board at WeightWatchers after admitting to not needing to diet and exercise and opting for Ozempic instead? Still one of the funniest stories of recent memory. Well, her old fling (+6.4%) just inked a deal with Amazon (+1.2%) to deliver GLP-1 weight-loss drugs straight to your doorstep. And because Jeff Bezos always goes the extra mile, that includes the refrigerated injectables.
The partnership means WW users can now check inventory, order, and track their Wegovy or Zepbound through Amazon Pharmacy… no more “pharmacy hopping” across small towns trying to find the last box of skinny juice. Amazon says Prime members will get their meds in 1-2 days, while non-Prime peasants can expect around 4.

Clearly this is a sign that WW (which crawled out of bankruptcy in July (after dropping its old debt diet plan) is trying to slim down its operations while cashing in on America’s favorite injectable pastime. The company’s COO, Jon Volkmann, said the Amazon link-up will make it easier for rural members who struggled to find the drugs during shortages.
If you’ve been keeping track, this isn’t WW’s first GLP-1 love affair… earlier this year they partnered directly with Novo Nordisk to sell Wegovy to cash-pay customers through NovoCare. So while other telehealth startups were peddling knockoff “compounded” versions, WW went straight for the name brand stuff. Respect.

Amazon, meanwhile, continues its slow transformation into the world’s most convenient hospital. Between One Medical, Amazon Pharmacy, and now prescription pickup kiosks, Bezos seems determined to make sure you can get a flu shot and a flat-screen in the same two-day window. Just don’t expect to grab your Wegovy shot from a kiosk anytime soon… those need cold storage, and your local Amazon warehouse isn’t exactly equipped for that.
Will this heal the open wound that is AWS’s market share chart? Nah. But at least Bezos can numb it with a refrigerated Wegovy and a reminder that no one on earth ships faster than he does.
