“Mom wake up... I have another "sock" for you to wash…” - iykyk LOL
Tim Apple has officially run out of ideas and started selling laundry. It’s called the iPhone Pocket… a $230 knitted crossbody sock for your phone. Let me say that again for the people in the back: This is not an accessory, or a friggin’ iPhone case. It’s a SOCK. Designed by Japanese designer Issey Miyake, who is somehow getting away with this sh*t.

In short, the product description reads as a “3D-knitted bag inspired by a piece of cloth.” Incredible. What’s more is that you can also grab the “short version” for $150, which is perfect if you wanted to hang a glorified oven mitt off your wrist in bright orange, turquoise, or “please don’t talk to me in public” pink. So why in the hell is Apple doing this? Because according to the Cupertino crowd, “ It explores the joy of wearing your iPhone in your own way.” Translation: we know you don’t have friends, so here’s this to make sure you never do.

Now if this feels all too familiar, that’s because Steve Jobs already did it twenty years ago. He called it the iPod Sock… and even the legend himself made fun of it on stage. Fast forward two decades and Apple’s gone full circle: back to selling overpriced wool in a new shape, while pretending it’s innovation. Meanwhile, over in the real world, Jony Ive and Sam Altman are busy trying to give robots souls, and Apple’s out here giving phones sweaters.
And guess what? Apple is going full send into this as the iPhone Pocket drops November 14th in select stores worldwide… a.k.a., just in time for the holiday season, when every Apple fan can finally say:“Yeah, I paid $230 for a sock. But it’s the most secure sock on the planet.” All jokes aside though, Apple shares did boom +2.16% yesterday… closing just .5% shy of a new all-time high.

Meaning yes… Tim Apple won the day, but at what cost? Especially with the level of memery this is bringing to it. But hey, I guess all publicity is good publicity. So with that said, keep your eyes on this new “innovation” from Apple and place your bets accordingly. Until next time, friends…
