Currently, addresses with over 20BTC or (1M USD worth of buying power) are the addresses that would be most economically viable (from an energy consumption or cost standpoint) to attack (assuming you can get a QC that can get enough logical qubits). For 80% of those addresses to move their coins it would take about 3 months of time (just for available block space) and based on the reduction of memory per blocks based on the impact of quantum proof addresses. But these numbers are super mushy and only based on quick, rough, Ai calculations that I conducted. Not my area of expertise - I know very little.

On November 14, 2024, Strategy held 279,420 BTC with 193 million shares outstanding, equating to ~0.00145 BTC per share (the common stock was valued at $338 per share - same as today). Today, Strategy holds 629,376 BTC with 283.6 million shares outstanding, equating to ~0.00222 BTC per share. So you got 53% more BTC per common share, the price is the same (in USD)…and yes, MSTR is more levered than it was in November of 2024 (which speaks to the enhanced volatility compared to just BTC). With that said, this is my point: Self custody Bitcoin is unmatched. That’s what most retail people in this space should own. If you can’t perform economic calculation on a security and actually assess its risk (which there are many risks beyond just owning Bitcoin), you will buy and sell at the exact wrong time - because you are following your emotions and not informed logic. I’m not suggesting you should own MSTR (or any treasury company for that matter)! But what I am saying is there’s a lot of people that really don’t understand what they own, and it shows…🤷🏻 Let’s hear what you got…

QT is dead. QE is next. RRP is empty. Bank reserves <10% of GDP. SOFR > EFFR. 2019 repo playbook—only bigger. This ends with QE → YCC. Own what can’t be printed: Bitcoin and gold. Awesome newsletter from @jameslavish this morning.
