It depends on your timeframe, i.e. how far in the future do you or your heirs want to spend the money. Over ten years there is a more than even probability that gold will 3x an MMF and that bitcoin will 10x or 100x it. Against housing, education, and health care costs over ten years, MMFs are practically guaranteed to lose substantial value.

Besides which fork gets the hash rate majority, pool support, and general node support, the other big issue in a fork is which fork gets to call itself "Bitcoin" and which has to pick a different name. "Bitcoin" would tend to go to the majority fork but it might not -- it's much more a political than a protocol issue. Why forks are a bad idea unless utterly necessary.

The answer at a technical level is that, unlike the operator of an archival Bitcoin node, operators of these kinds of sites can delete one kind of content while keeping the other. Under the current Core software, Bitcoin node operators have no such freedom -- deleting content destroys their financial functionality as an archival node. This makes them, and the Bitcoin network generally, quite vulnerable to illegal content attacks.
