I've given the team a goal of a meaningful demo by Bitcoin 2025 in May. It's an enormous amount of work, but the opportunity is there and it's time to #AwakenTheSleepingGiant Bitcoin.

I'd like to take a moment to thank the product team behind the Glacier Drop. This application is probably the most complex ever built in the history of distributions in crypto. 8 ecosystems, 24/7 uptime, no data loss, 7 blockchains all with different addresses and crypto, regulatory compliance, auditability, and a huge smart contract. Oh and it's running on HYDRA! The millions of claims are flowing first to a hydra head. The GD is the Hydra application running with Cardano main net. There will be bugs, UX issues, and some people will have to wait a little bit. But that's why it's 2 months. It pushed the bounds of our ecosystem, its technology, and the perception of Cardano as a whole. We did something novel, special, and completely original today. Cardano invented the glacier drop. Welcome to the 4th generation.

For those curious about glacier drop support for ada on ledger devices, there is an issue with ledger's implementation of CIP-8 message signing. It apparently only supports signing messages up to 31 bytes whereas the GD payload is 251 bytes. This is a cardano specific issue with ledger's software that we asked them to update in July and they haven't given us a timeline for their update. In the meantime, we have a hack that we are deploying that is common in the NFT space by signing a null transaction with the 251 byte GD payload as metadata. This will only have to be done for ada ledger users. The glacier drop portal will automatically update to add this path. I will remind everyone that the glacier drop process is a 2 month event. There is no difference redeeming today or a few weeks from now. If you are one of the impacted people, then come back towards the end of the month and try again. No one lost their night or place in line. These edge cases are the unfortunate realities of launching something to eight different ecosystems and many different wallet modalities. There are certain experiences that take a little bit more time because we cannot control third parties.

It would be interesting to see if they could strcuture this as a bond on Snek Network activities that gradually repays the treasury in ada with interest over a 3 year time frame. I support and like the snek community, but no one is getting listing fees (including midnight) covered by the treasury.

The bad faith takes that I'm a liability to Cardano's growth while somehow Midnight (another Hoskinson project) is surging, partnering with more than a hundred ventures in 8 ecosystems, getting liquidity for all CNAs, and also we are leading the Bitcoin DeFi narrative and technology, bringing billions of TVL and millions of transactions into Cardano. I prioritized at IOG Peras, Leios, and Hydra (remember Doom and the Glacier Drop) last year and pushed aggressively for their deployment ASAP. We built bridges with dozens of DApps in Cardano and got them the resources they need to grow and participate in Cardano's development and governance. Not to mention great marketing like going on Shawn Ryan's show to open our world up to 19 million new people. Charles Drangement Syndrome only seems to be impacting X trolls and people living in eco-chambers. The rest of the world doesn't care, and we are a massive value add to the ecosystem. It's getting really old having the same fight with the same people. Newsflash, you lost. I'm here to stay in Cardano. Deal with it.
