Today, Ripple is breaking into the $120T corporate treasury payments market with the $1B acquisition of GTreasury. The past few years have reminded this industry why payments, first and foremost, is THE primary use case for crypto and blockchain. Payments are where Ripple first started for exactly these reasons – the infrastructure is complex, siloed and inefficient, but as we know, perfectly positioned to benefit from decentralized financial technologies. Astounding amounts of cash are trapped in outdated payments systems, creating friction, unnecessary costs, and barriers to entering new markets. GTreasury has been serving some of the most well known brands for decades – and now together with Ripple, we’ll be able to help CFOs manage all their assets, include stablecoins, tokenized deposits, etc at scale around the world, as well as put their idle capital to work with repo markets via Hidden Road. The opportunity is here, and we’re diving right in. It’s happening!

The smartest (and maybe the funniest) person I know. A true OG in crypto with the conviction and vision to see what others couldn’t - you are a legend. Thank you David for everything you’ve done for the industry, for Ripple and for the XRP Ledger. We are all forever grateful… and in awe of your immense impact. I’m not taking our weekly check-ins off the calendar though… and am glad you won’t be far as you join the Ripple board, continuing to impart your deep crypto wisdom and guidance on what we’re building. Wait...does this mean you’re my boss now!?!

2025 is here and the Trump bull market is real. For Ripple, this is even more personal after Gensler's SEC effectively froze our business opportunities here at home for years. The optimism is obvious and very deserved. Today: ✅75% of Ripple’s open roles are now US-based, while over the last 4 years, the vast majority of hires were outside the US ✅We signed more US deals in the last six weeks of 2024 (since the election) than the previous six MONTHS Team Trump is already jumpstarting innovation and job growth in the US with Scott Bessent, David Sacks, Paul Atkins and others at the helm, and they aren’t even in office yet! Say what you want, but the “Trump effect” is already making crypto great again – through his campaign, and in the Administration’s day 1 priorities.

The last major financial regulation bill was passed 15 years ago in response to the 2008 financial crisis. Tomorrow, the signing of the GENIUS Act cements the US’s future in being a leader in truly innovative financial technology – stablecoins. This moment is a historic one, and I, for one, am looking forward to all that is to come as a result of this transformational legislation. Thank you to the bipartisan leaders that got it done – @RepFrenchHill, @GOPMajorityWhip, @CongressmanGT, @RepAngieCraig, @RepDustyJohnson, @RepDonDavis, @RepBryanSteil, @RepRitchie, @SpeakerJohnson, and @RepJoshG.

Always exciting to see my alma mater @UnivOfKansas leading the way in pushing the boundaries of onchain use cases. This is exactly why Ripple launched the University Blockchain Research Initiative: to support academic research driving new utility and long-term impact of crypto. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Okay, it seems my post has raised a few more questions – first off, XRP and shares of Ripple are very different things. This post is ONLY about shares in Ripple. Linqto is a very separate company that bought shares in Ripple from some of our existing shareholders. It should be reassuring that we (Ripple) are able to confirm that Linqto owns 4.7M shares of Ripple. I have no idea how Linqto managed the participants to whom they sold “representative units” of Ripple shares and thus I can’t provide any reassurance about Linqto’s business practices or how they will handle it now. The good news is that the value of Ripple shares has increased significantly over time and there should be considerable gains on those shares for ‘Linqto unitholders’

True to our long-standing compliance roots, @Ripple is applying for a national bank charter from the OCC. If approved, we would have both state (via NYDFS) and federal oversight, a new (and unique!) benchmark for trust in the stablecoin market. Earlier in the week via @StandardCustody, we also applied for a Fed Master account -- while Congress is working towards clear rules and regulations, and banks (in a far cry from the years of Operation Chokepoint 2.0) are leaning in, this access would allow us to hold $RLUSD reserves directly with the Fed and provide an additional layer of security to future proof trust in RLUSD. Ripple always has and will continue to build trusted, battle-tested and secure infrastructure. In a $250B+ market, RLUSD stands out for putting regulation first, setting the standard that institutions expect.

Ripple is dropping our cross appeal, and the SEC is expected to drop their appeal, as they’ve previously said. We’re closing this chapter once and for all, and focusing on what’s most important – building the Internet of Value. Lock in.

Crypto made its debut on @60Minutes tonight – there’s no doubt that these technologies will continue to become more and more mainstream - with influence and reach that will only continue to grow. A few things I do want to comment on after watching: I spoke with Margaret Brennan / 60Minutes for 90+ min straight. When discussing the SEC’s misguided lawsuit against Ripple, 60Minutes shockingly left out that a Federal Judge ruled that XRP is not a security…Gensler’s shill (John Reed Stark) knows better despite his comments that 60Minutes chose to air. Lastly, to say crypto has no utility is exactly what the naysayers said about the Internet in its earliest days - that it’s nothing more than illicit activity. How vastly they were proven wrong. Today, even JPMorgan is coming around on blockchain… (conveniently 60Minutes also failed to mention that Ripple is doing billions of dollars of KYC-ed transactions for our institutional customers - leveraging XRP to move money cross-border more efficiently than traditional payment rails.)

The Skull of Satoshi was originally built to call attention to blockchain energy usage, and today it’s a symbol and reminder of Bitcoin’s incredible staying power to many around the world (including me!). As crypto and blockchain technologies become widely used, respected and understood – it’s past time that we set aside our differences and work together to move the industry forward. I hope this gesture continues to remind folks that we (BTC, XRP, and other crypto communities) have more in common than we think.
