There’s much higher risks in DeFi vs TradFi, lots more robustness needs to be developed on the DeFi front. - WBTC means BitGo controls your BTC and recently trust has been dropping when Justin Sun’s entities gained signature signing ability - the DeFi app is subject to smart contract vulnerabilities. Aave so far has survived but Compound Finance has experienced some vulnerabilities (out of 2 large contenders that’s 50% vulnerabilities) - DeFi lending is subject to governance attack. See Compound Finance. If forced between the two I would probably use Strike. But really Debifi is the best on custody and robustness by a long margin. In the institutional grade funds we run we study risk with a fine tooth comb and we have caps of DeFi exposure and have risk models on each protocol/dapp to cap our risk exposure to DeFi vulnerabilities. DeFi is sketchy in its present state of development, will need many more years to become robust.
