William Richard Keating, born on September 6, 1952, is an American lawyer and politician affiliated with the Democratic Party. He has been serving as the U.S. representative for Massachusetts's 9th congressional district since 2013, after initially entering Congress in 2011 to represent Massachusetts's 10th congressional district. His district includes Cape Cod and most of the South Coast. Keating built his reputation on advocating for criminal justice issues during his tenure in the Massachusetts General Court from 1977 to 1999, before serving three terms as the district attorney of Norfolk County.
