The Yixian Formation in China has yielded well-preserved fossils of dinosaurs and other creatures. Contrary to previous beliefs of volcanic entombment, new research suggests these fossils were preserved by everyday events like burrow collapses and rainy periods. This challenges the notion of extraordinary causes for ordinary phenomena.
