Australia and Turkey are vying to host Cop31 in 2026. Australia's Climate Minister, Chris Bowen, aims to co-host the event with the Pacific nations and has pledged $50m for climate-related losses. Bowen stresses the need for deeper emission cuts by 2035 at Cop29.
