AEP, through its subsidiary AEP Transmission, has obtained a $1.6bn loan guarantee from the US Department of Energy to modernize transmission lines in five states. The upgrades aim to improve reliability, create jobs, save costs for customers, and support increased energy demand driven by technological advancements.
