Rape surges 13% in NYC as other violent crimes decrease, police say

Rape cases in New York City have increased by 13% this year, with 1,218 incidents reported so far compared to 1,077 last year. Other violent crimes like murder and shootings have decreased, but rape arrests are only up by 2% from last year.
