Lawsuit alleging Target illegally collected biometric data can move forward, judge says

A federal judge denied Target's motion to dismiss a lawsuit alleging illegal collection of biometric data. The suit claims Target violated Illinois' BIPA by storing facial scans without consent. The judge ruled the allegations hold merit and allowed the lawsuit to proceed. Target has until Dec. 13 to respond.
