First snow of the season falls in several states: Is a snowy winter ahead?

The first snow of the season hit the eastern U.S., reaching as far south as North Carolina. Despite early snowfall, it doesn't predict a snowy winter. Other regions like Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and West Virginia also experienced significant snowfall.
