A Colorado State Patrol trooper is shot while parked along a highway and kills gunman

A Colorado State Patrol trooper was shot in the arm during a shootout near Denver. The trooper, Cpl. Tye Simcox, returned fire, killing the gunman who had targeted him. Simcox applied a tourniquet to his arm and was treated and released from the hospital.
